Demonstration of the possibility of relocating the areas occupied for private use within the district in order to guarantee the exploitation of strategic public areas for all citizens.
Displacement of vessels including feasibility check of the new harbour area.
Accessibility to the lake along the entire shore and increased attractiveness of the area.
Analysis of the territory and public and private interests. Identification of strategic contact areas of the core and inhabited areas in general with the lake and functional interconnection of nodal points.
Initial situation
The client intended to develop the basic concept in a short time in order to hold a public design competition.
Phase 1 - Analysis
Identification of the potential of the area. Development of an urban concept based on a series of ‘events’, public places for recreation and meeting near the lake and their functional interconnection.
Phase 2 - Proposal
Development of an outline project incorporating the ‘events’ and the functions connected with the lake in the area, attributing specific dimensional and morphological characteristics to the ‘events’ and functions. Feasibility check and inclusion in an outline project.
